Wisdom from the little ones......

I thought these were just toooooo cute!

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?
1) You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.-Alan, age 10

2) No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with. - Kirsten, age 10

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
1) Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then. * Camille, age 10

2) No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get
married.-Freddie, age 6 (very wise for his age)

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
1) You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.-Derrick, age 8

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
1) Both don't want any more kids.-Lori, age 8

WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
1) Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough. * Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)

2) On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date. - Martin, age 10 (wise beyond his years)

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
1) I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the
newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns. * Craig, age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
1) When they're rich.-Pam, age 7
2) The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that. - Curt, age 7
3) The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do.-Howard, age 8 (this one has very good morals)

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
1) It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.-Mike Schaffer, age 4 (bless you child)

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
1) There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there? --
Kelvin, age 8

And the winner is........
HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
1) Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a
truck. * Ricky, age 10

This could happen to you.....

This could happen to you.....

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying: "Hi, how are you?"
I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom but I don't know what got into me, so I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
"Doin' just fine!"
And the other person says:
"So what are you up to?"
What kind of question is that?
At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
"Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"
At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
"Can I come over?"
Ok, this question is just too weird for me, but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation.
I tell them
"No........I'm a little busy right now!!!"
"Then I hear the person say nervously...
"Listen, I'll have to call you back."
There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions.

May God bless, Love ya's

My wish for you

Truly for each of you...

Hey, this is about the most beautiful wish that I can recall receiving and I want to share it with you who have help make my life so enjoyable. Please enjoy, bye.

Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last momentstogether at the airport. They had announced the departure.

Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, "I love you and I wish you enough".

The daughter replied, "Mom, our life together has been more thanenough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom".

They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to thewindow where I was seated. Standing there I could see she wanted and neededto cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy but she welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?".

"Yes, I have," I replied. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?".

"I am old and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back will be for my funeral," she said.

"When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I wish you enough'. May I ask what that means?".

She began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone". She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail and she smiled even more. "When we said , 'I wish you enough', we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them". Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

She then began to cry and walked away .

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them but then an entire life to forget them.

May God bless........Love ya's

The Cowboy and The Church....

One Sunday morning an old cowboy entered a church just before services were to begin.

Although the old man and his clothes were spotlessly clean, he wore jeans, a denim shirt and boots that were very worn and ragged. In his hand he carried a worn out old hat and an equally worn out Bible.

The Church he entered was in a very upscale and exclusive part of the city. It was the largest and most beautiful church the old cowboy had ever seen and the people were all dressed in expensive clothes and accessories. As the cowboy took a seat, the others moved away from him. No one greeted, spoke to, or welcomed him. They were all appalled at his appearance and did not attempt to hide it.

The preacher gave a long sermon about Hellfire and brimstone and a stern lecture on how to dress and how much money the church needed to do God's work.

As the old cowboy was leaving the church, the preacher approached him and asked the cowboy to do him a favor. "Before you come back in here again, have a talk with God and ask him what He thinks would be appropriate attire for worship." The old cowboy assured the preacher he would.

The next Sunday, the cowboy showed up for the services wearing the same spotlessly clean ragged jeans, shirt, boots, and hat. Once again he was completely shunned and ignored.

The preacher approached the man and said, "I thought I asked you to speak to God before you came back to our church."

"I did"

"If you spoke to God, what did He tell you the proper attire should be for worshiping in here?"

"Well, sir, God told me that He didn't have a clue what I should wear. He says, He's never been in this church!"

A little Laughter is good for the soul......Have a blessed day! Love ya's

THE APPLE BASKET

One day an elderly man entered into a hospital. He was grumpy from being on medication and the nurses thought him to be insane, as he yelled for his wife to get the apple basket. By the time they had checked him into his room the nurses were exhausted from the fight he was putting up. "Sir you have to calm down we are doing everything we can for you" they would try to explain. "I don't need your help" the grumpy man would yell "I want my apple basket". He finally slept. The nurses sighed with relief and talked among themselves whether they should call the hospital psychologist about the old man and his obsession with the apple basket. As they talked and laughed about the situation the wife came in carrying the basket of apples. They looked kind of stunned as she asked if she could see her husband and deliver his basket. Sure, they agreed as they watched her slip past into his room. Curiosity consumed them over the next few weeks as they tended to the elderly man. He was eaten with cancer and the doctors had given him no hope of survival. He turned out to be a very calm, happy man once he had his basket. His wife, they noticed, would come in with apples and go out with apples and the curiosity grew even more till one nurse couldn't stand the suspense. One night as he was nearing the end, the nurse sat down in a chair by the wife." May I ask why do you have that apple basket? I just don't understand the significance." "I am an apple farmer by trade he sighed. From the time I was 20 till the day I do die I will forever have my apples." The nurse nodded thinking she understood. He just likes his work, she thought, assured now he was a little bit crazy. As she started to leave, the old man asked her to sit down. "At age 20 I was saved, I accepted the Lord as my Savior." Oh no, the nurse thought. Here comes the lecture on religion. The old man continued. "The day I accepted the Lord as my Savior I got this basket, and each time I had a problem or concern that I could not handle, I put an apple in the basket un-shined." "Why?" the nurse said shaking her head. "Because it reminded me to give those problems to the Lord for him to shine. See my basket now, he stated. As my problems disappear so do the apples. As I get new problems, ones I cannot handle alone, I put an apple in." The humble nurse looked into the basket... only one apple was there. With that, he took a big breath and grabbed his wife by the hand and faded into eternal sleep. The wife paused for a moment and got up from her place to take from the basket the last remaining apple. She whispered in his ear that his reward awaits him in heaven. The nurse stayed still and asked with tears in her eyes, "what do you think his riches will be?" The wife knew what they were, eternal life with Jesus Christ. But she could see the concern and sadness upon the young nurses' face and handed her the apple and said "the biggest apple pie you can imagine!" That was the day the young nurse was "saved," and from that day on she too always had a basket of apples by her bed.

Jims Birthday Party

Well we did it......keeping Bro. Jim (my hubby) in the dark about the birthday party that the church was giving him last night after church was a success, he did not catch on at all. He was truly surprised. We have such a good church...they are so good to Bro. Jim. He recieved some of the most beautiful cards that I have ever seen, and some wonderful gifts. He said this was the best birthday that he has ever had. His birthday was on Friday, March 17th....the 1st thing to happen that day was our 3 yr old grandson called him and not only wished him Happy Birthday but also sang the Happy Birthday song to him, then around 4:30 that evening our son called and talked to him and wished him Happy Birthday, this is the first time since the 28th of Feb. that we had talked to him because he had been gone out to sea and didn't get back until the 17th of March. Then to make it even better our daughter, Adriana came to church last night, it is the first time she has been in church since the 1st of December. He did have a wonderful Birthday and I am so glad he enjoyed himself. Please remember Adriana in prayer, she is pregnant, but most of all she needs to be saved.

May God bless and keep you, Love ya's

Jim and Dustin (at Dustins' Wedding)

This is a pic of my baby sister and her family. Left to right....Jeana, Brandon, Lawanna (my sister) and her hubby Charles. My neice Jeana wrote the following poem for her Uncle/Pastor Jimmy for his birthday to be put in our church newsletter.

Dear Pastor

Who we love so dear
Your birthday is coming
Oh, it's so near!

As your birthday approaches
With each passing day
I wish you the best
That's all I can say

How old? Some may ask
He's turning 48
But age doesn't matter
What a birthday to await

Thanks for being such an uncle
So crazy and all
But also for being such a Pastor
To raise us from our fall

But multiply that birthday feeling by infinity
Infinity and beyond
That's how you'll be feeling Pastor
When the day comes that you see Jesus "head on"

And as your birthday comes don't regret
See this as a blessing
Only very few get
Remember, the greatest prize is awaiting you yet!

May God bless, Love ya's Pam

Hubby is 48 today.....

Well Happy St. Patricks Day to all! It is also my hubbys b'day, he is 48 today. Jim recieved several calls and emails telling him Happy B'day. We (me, Cameron, Trey, Adriana andKevin) took him to the Throughbred Steakhouse to eat....yummy! Cameron spent the night with his mom last night (his idea), so he called by 10:00am to sing the Happy Birthday song to his pa. Though I must say the highlight of Jims' day was when Dustin called, he has been out to sea since Feb. 28/06 and we hadn't heard from him until today...that was a good B'day present. The church is giving him a surprise B'day party tomorrow night after church....so far so good, it is still a surprise. It is a little chilly here today, but all in all it has been a very good day. This is a day that the Lord has made, and I am so blessed to be here among the living and to have my family around me. Thank you Jesus for all your blessings upon me.

May God bless, Love ya's

Nonna 2 little Angels.....

Here is a picture of Cameron and Trey. They are Nonnas pride and joy . I love them so much. We are expecting a new addition in our family in June. We don't know what we are getting yet, a sister or another brother, but we can't wait.

My Day.......

Well today has been a slow day. I really haven't done very much. Around 12:00 pm I left to take my grandsons to see their mama. Cameron stayed and I have to pick him up tonight, but Trey would not talk about staying.......he just wants to be with his Nonna, and that is fine with me, he will go when he is ready. We don't try to force him. We never forced Cameron and now he likes going because it is his idea (he has been with us since 3 1/2 months due to our daughter, their mother taking a 3rd shift job, now he don't want to leave, this is home to him). My daughter lived with us for a while when Trey was around 10 or 11 months old and now he does not want to go with her either. Cameron 3 yrs and Trey 2 yrs are very close to each other, there is just 14 months between their ages. Well this Nonna is not complaining, I love having them here with me. Well Trey is taking a nap, and when Pawpaw gets home from prayer at the church, I am going to pick up Cameron before it gets very late. Gotta run and get ready. Love ya's and May God bless
